UN Partners ‘Light Up Blue’ In Display of UN Day Solidarity
The UN House, Office of the Prime Minister and other partners lit up in blue for the UN’s 75th Anniversary.
United Nations (UN) House and the Office of the Prime Minister at Whitehall were among six buildings that ‘painted the town blue’ on Wednesday night in commemoration of the upcoming UN Day commemoration on October 24.
The expression of solidarity coincides with the 75th anniversary of the UN’s founding charter taking effect on October 24, 1945.
City Hall in Port-of-Spain, the British High Commission and German Embassy in St. Clair, the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) and the NIB Building on Queen’s Park East also partnered with the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office by lighting the front facades of their buildings in blue.
British High Commissioner, Her Excellency Harriet Cross, and Acting Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Port-of-Spain, Monika Noy, were there to see the lights switched on at their shared diplomatic mission along St. Clair Avenue.
UN Resident Coordinator, Marina Walter, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the partners who shared in the celebration of this landmark milestone for the UN.
