UNFPA and partners bring awareness to Family Planning at Community “Marketplace”.
On Saturday 14th July 2018, UNFPA in collaboration with The Ministry of Planning and Development , The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs , The Office of the Prime Minister (Gender, Child Affairs and HIV), The Port of Spain City Corporation, The Sangre Grande Regional Corporation , the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) , the Network of Rural Women Producers , the Family Planning Association of Trinidad and Tobago and other civil society partners convened a Community ‘Marketplace” at Guaico Secondary School in Sangre Grande.
The event was organized to bring awareness and key services to the residents of rural Sangre Grande whilst providing the perfect platform to launch the introduction of contraceptive implants to Trinidad and Tobago in line with WPD 2018 theme, ‘Family Planning is a Human Right.’
