SDG Photo Contest: SDGs Through the Eyes of You(th)!
The RCO, together with UNICEF, is organizing a photo contest, “SDGs through the Eyes of You(th)!”
The Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator (RCO) in Trinidad and Tobago, together with The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), is organizing a photo contest, “SDGs through the Eyes of You(th)!” This contest is part of the “World’s Largest Lesson”, a campaign aimed at introducing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to children and young people everywhere, uniting them in action.
DEADLINE EXTENDED TO THURSDAY 17th OCTOBER
Photos should be inspirational in nature and get young people to think about development and take action to achieve the 2030 Agenda and 17 SDGs.
How to Participate:
Take a picture relating to any of the sustainable goals and tell us what it means to You(th) in Trinidad and Tobago.

General Rules
- Submission deadline is Sunday 13 October 2019; winners will be announced shortly after.
- The contest is open to two (2) age groups:
- Minors (Ages 12 – 17)
- Youth (Ages 18 – 25)
IMPORTANT: For Minors (Ages 12 – 17) eager to participate in the competition, they will need their parents or guardians to submit on their behalf.
- UN staff members (including interns and consultants) and professional photographers are not eligible to apply.
- All entries not respecting the theme, or the technical/authorship requirements set out below will not be considered.
Submissions
- Contestants must select one or more of the 17 SDG’s.
- Contestants may submit a maximum of two photos in the selected Goal.
- Each photo shall be accompanied by a title and short creative text highlighting how it relates to the sustainable development future for Trinidad & Tobago. Creative captions are crucial to the competition and will improve contestants’ chances.
- Contestants must submit original copies of their images. After submitting entries, the photos, with permission from contestants, may be used by the United Nations in the future for non-commercial purposes.
- Contestants must include their full name, age and contact information in submissions.
Material Specifications
- File sizes must be more than 1MB per photo.
- Photos will be accepted in both black/white and color. Contestants are free to express their creativity through editing images once the photos remain original.
Prize
An independent panel of judges will review and decide on the winning submissions.

2nd Prize: One Pair of Apple Airpods
3rd Prize: 4 Movie Vouchers
Prizes for Youth (Ages 18 – 25)
1st Prize: One Samsung Tablet Model 9.6
2nd Prize: One Pair of Apple Airpods
3rd Prize: 4 Movie Vouchers
The 6 best pictures will also be exhibited during the launch of the SDG Mobile Gallery on United Nations Day on the 24th of October and become part of the Mobile SDG Gallery exhibits that will travel through Trinidad & Tobago during the next 12 months.
