Refugee Monday Mas was a mixture of performance and free form masquerade, as the band tells the story of migration and refugees through the sections.
Achieved through a collaborative effort, the Refugee Monday Mas was a mixture of performance and free form masquerade, as the band tells the story of migration and refugees through the sections: Water, which separates and reconnects us; The Windrush Generation – voluntary migration/involuntary deportation; What would You Take? which asks one of the hardest questions migrants/refugees must ask; Refugees and the obstacles they face; and We Are All One – no matter where we are from or how we got to where we are LOVE is In Full Effect, LOVE is LIFE.
The Refugee Mas Project was a project made possible through aid from UNHCR, the National Drama Associated of Trinidad and Tobago and students from UTT’s Academy for the Performing Arts.
