The National Protected Areas Systems Plan ensures that approximately 20,000 square kilometres of land and marine space in Trinidad and Tobago is protected.
In light of the project titled “Improving forest and protected area management in TT”, the Ministry of Planning and Development and the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN (FAO/UN) have been working together with other stakeholders such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries, Forestry Division, the Institute of Marine Affairs and the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) to produce the National Protected Areas Systems Plan.
The National Protected Areas Systems Plan ensures that approximately 20,000 square kilometres of land and marine space in Trinidad and Tobago is protected so that the country’s biodiversity can continue to thrive.
