Catalogue of Services for the Economic Empowerment of Women
The EU, UN Spotlight Initiative in collaboration with the UWI- Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business, recently developed a Catalogue of Services for the Economic Empowerment of Women. The Catalogue is a resource guide for victims and survivors of gender-based violence who seek support services to enhance their economic empowerment and increase their autonomy, making them less dependent on their abusive partners. It can also be used by support organisations to respond to violence against women and girls, including family violence.
At risk groups like female survivors and children of domestic/family violence; marginalised populations such as migrants/refugees, sex workers, members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI+) community and persons with disabilities may find the catalogue particularly useful.
The Catalogue is available in English and Spanish and showcases the services offered to survivors by fifty-four (54) organisations. It is colour-coded and divided into seven (7) categories: Financial Services; Business Development and Entrepreneurship; Life Skills; Education and Training; Networking and Socialization; Counselling, Mentoring and Coaching; and Social Services.
